Benenden

Following on from the success of Parents’ Day at Benenden School we would like to say a special well done to Mark and the team for ensuring the grounds were in peak condition. There were many positive comments from staff and parents alike who agreed that the grounds were looking the best ever. This is clearly the result of all the hard work put in by Mark, Dan, Jack and Alan. So congratulations for a job well done.

Amery Hill

We are delighted to announce that following the re-tendering process at Amery Hill School, Commercial Grounds Care have been awarded the Grounds Maintenance contract for the next three years.

Kevin and his team have been looking after the grounds at Amery Hill since 2007. Over this time a main focus for the team has been to improve and develop the grounds at the School and we have completed a number of designs enhancing the formal garden areas and have also worked with the School to improve the playing surface on the sports pitches.

The team have built a good working relationship with the School and we very much look forward to continuing both the improvements to the grounds and the good working relationship over the next three years.

Open days

With the new term well under way now is the season for Open Days. The appearance of the grounds is key to making a good impression on all prospective parents and we will be working hard to ensure all our Schools gardens and grounds are in top condition for these events.

Planting season – extra works

We have now entered the dormant period for plants. Between now and December is the perfect time for planting shrubs and trees, and we have a number of planting projects currently under way.

Jim, our resident horticultural expert is on hand to provide designs for special projects and for advice on species to suit particular locations. If you are looking for new planting schemes at the moment or you would simply like to brighten up some areas with bulbs for the Spring please give us a call.

Congratulations

Well done to Sam on passing his driving test and also to Luke for passing his towing licence.

Future training

Over the autumn we are running PA1 and PA6 courses in the safe application of pesticides. We also plan “in house” training on initial marking of sports pitches and athletics tracks. Our in house experts will coach new and less experienced team members to ensure that we instil best practice across the company.

These training courses were devised following the success of our mentoring programme this summer.
